“It was so hard for me to walk from my house to the backyard and sit in the sun. I know that sounds insane, but it was difficult and I didn’t know when I could get up again, when I could be myself again and when I would have my energy back,” she told the crowd in fan footage shared to X. “It’s a strange thing to finally not feel like I was in control and that was my lesson: To let go. Thank you to everyone who’s here that took care of me and listened to all of my endless complaining and need for predictions … You’re patient and you’re kind. You still are.”

The seven-time Grammy winner was forced to postpone her career-spanning concert tour last June after her manager said she had come down with a “serious bacterial infection.”

“I would call (my doctor) every other day (asking) why I didn’t have any energy, when was my energy going to come back, when was I going to feel (like) myself again, when can I go on tour again?” Madonna told the audience. “All he would say is, ‘Go outside, in the sun.’”

Madonna said that when she woke up from a coma during the ordeal, her first word was “No!”

“That’s what my assistant tells me. But I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, ‘Wanna come with us? Wanna come with me? Wanna go this way?’ And I said, ‘No! No!’” she said.

The Queen of Pop drew more cheers when she recounted an exchange with her manager Guy Oseary, who asked her how quickly she planned on going back out on the road.

“I took the oxygen out of my nose, I looked at him and I said, ‘In two f—ing months!’” Madonna said. “I just said it. Sometimes you just have to say s—, put it out in the universe and it happens.”

Madonna — who is a mother to six children — said she immediately thought of her mother, who died from breast cancer when she was just 30.

“She was by herself,” she said. “And I was thinking, ‘What if I left my children?’ That would destroy me to leave my children at this moment in their lives. I wasn’t thinking about me. I was thinking about them and I was thinking about my mother and how scared she must have been to know that she was going to leave us all behind.”

She concluded by telling fans: “I don’t take any of this s— for granted.”
