Magna’s surround view system launched on Toyota Tundra model

Magna has recently announced the launch of a new advanced driver assist system (ADAS). The new system aims to enhance safety, comfort, and convenience for vehicle owners.

The new technology makes use of next generation cameras and electronic control units which enable the use of 3D and surround view which have been launched on the new 2022 Toyota Tundra.

The vehicles have been fitted with the complete surround view system technology which includes five cameras and an advanced electronic control unit providing drivers with a high-resolution view around the vehicle.

A unique ‘fly-around’ view is created by data, which is fused from the cameras and the system, allowing the driver to see a 3D image of the vehicle and its environment upon start-up. This feature provides the driver with a holistic view of the surroundings, assisting with difficult manoeuvring. 

Alongside these features Magna’s advanced trailer assist and off-road functions have also launched for the first time. These functions provide:

• Trailer Guidance, a semi-automated function to assist drivers back a trailer into a desired location, which is extremely useful when backing into tight spaces.
• An automatic one-time calibration of the trailer hitch to help simplify set up and allow for quick swapping between multiple trailers.
• Multi-terrain view to allow drivers to customise their view between front, side, rear and bird’s eye to enhance visibility from multiple angles.
• A ‘see through-hood’ option which enables drivers to see under the front hood of the vehicle, supporting drivers in difficult off-road conditions to avoid rocks and other obstacles.
