Mahindra is known as the largest utility vehicle manufacturer in the country, and in recent years, it has been producing some of the most popular SUVs. One of the SUVs currently in its lineup is the Scorpio-N, which is dubbed as the “Big Daddy” of SUVs. Another one of its newest offerings is the XUV400, the electric version of its ICE XUV300 sub-compact SUV. Recently, a YouTuber conducted a series of drag races between these two Mahindra siblings to determine which one is the fastest. This drag race also highlights the contrast between traditional diesel power and new electric power.

The video of the drag race between the Mahindra Scorpio-N and XUV400 has been shared on Arun Panwar‘s YouTube channel. The video begins with the presenter introducing both powerful SUVs from Mahindra. The presenter then provides the power figures for both cars. Starting with the Scorpio-N, he mentions that it is powered by a diesel motor producing 175 bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of torque. Moving on to the XUV400, he states that it is equipped with an electric drivetrain, generating around 150 bhp of maximum power and 300 Nm of torque.

After introducing both cars, they are lined up at the starting grid. The presenter approaches the owner and driver of the XUV400 and requests him to activate the lowest power mode, known as the Fun mode. He explains that the Fun mode is equivalent to the Eco mode in other ICE cars. Additionally, he mentions that the Scorpio-N, being a diesel vehicle, does not have the Zip Zap Zoom mode available in the automatic version of the Scorpio-N. Following this, they begin their first drag race.

In the initial drag race, the XUV400 takes an early lead, creating a significant gap between itself and the Scorpio-N diesel. However, after some time, the Scorpio-N catches up and surpasses the XUV400. After this surprising outcome, the presenter approaches the owner of the XUV400 and asks for an explanation. The owner explains that in the Fun mode, the car’s power decreases after reaching 80 kmph to preserve the battery. After hearing this, they run the cars in the same mode once again, and the Scorpio-N wins the race again, despite the XUV400’s good start.

Following this, the presenter instructs the XUV400 owner to activate the most powerful mode, called the Fearless mode. This time, the XUV400 accelerates extremely quickly and leaves the Scorpio-N far behind. Despite driving the Scorpio-N with full power, the presenter fails to come anywhere close to the XUV400. After losing this race, the presenter suggests the XUV400 owner switch to the middle mode, which is a balance between speed and power. Even in this mode, the XUV400 effortlessly outpaces the Scorpio-N, leaving it in the dust.
