Mahindra Scorpio-N off-road edition rendered

With record bookings amassed within a day, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has become another blockbuster offering from the Indian UV specialist. With the 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system on offer as an option in the new Scorpio-N, many off-road enthusiasts are going to queue at Mahindra showrooms, and many will also get their Scorpio-N’s customized to suit more off-road terrains. Here’s a digital rendering of a Mahindra Scorpio-N with extreme off-road-oriented modifications.

This digital rendering to be discussed here is an extreme off-road-oriented version of the Mahindra Scorpio-N and is a brainwork of Bimble Designs. This digital rendering of the off-road monster is black in colour and looks butch thanks to a host of off-road-specific bits like raised ride height with suspension lift kit, which gives this Mahindra Scorpio-N a high ground clearance.

This heavy-duty off-road version of the Mahindra Scorpio-N also gets a few other bits like off-road spec tyres with a knobby tread pattern, metal side steps, flared wheel arches and a roof rack. It also gets a custom front bumper with tapered side edges for better approach and departure angles. At the top of the bumper, there’s a slim bull bar and a horizontal LED light bar. At the front of this bumper, there is a metal winch too. The rear profile of this heavily-modified Scorpio-N is not visible, though.

Apart from all these digital add-ons, the Mahindra Scorpio-N doesn’t get many changes to its original design. The SUV still gets the same boxy and upright stance for its body, with a wide front grille with vertical chrome slats, and boxy-looking headlamps housings which come with LED projector headlamps. Not much has changed on the side profile, with the design of the door and window panels remaining the same. However, to suit the big-block off-road tyres, the diamond-cut alloy wheels are gone, and in their place, there are rugged-looking steel wheels.

What has added value to the new Mahindra Scorpio-N is the wide choice of powertrains and the exclusive option of a four-wheel-drive system, the latter of which is not available in any other SUV within the Rs 30 lakh mark. The exclusivity of the 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system gives the Scorpio-N over other three-row SUVs in its price range, such as Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar, all of which come standard with front-wheel-drive configuration. This system is different from the all-wheel-drive system offered as an option in the Mahindra XUV700 and is more suited for off-road terrains with different terrain modes on offer too.
