Mahindra Scorpio N was one of the anticipated product from Mahindra this year. Just like their other products that were launched in the market, Mahindra surprised everyone with the pricing. Mahindra Scorpio N price starts at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom and the SUV received over 1 lakh bookings in just half an hour after they opened official bookings. Deliveries for the new Scorpio N will begin in next couple of weeks. Most of us have only seen the fully loaded version Z8 L version of Scorpio N in the videos but, here we have a video that show what the base variant of the Scorpio N has to offer.

The video has been uploaded by Indian Car Guruji on their YouTube channel. The car seen here is a pre-production model and the base Z2 model is not available for customers in this shade. Starting with the front, the SUV gets the same grille as higher models but, instead of chrome garnishes, there are gloss black elements. The headlamps are are not projector or LEDs. They are simply halogen units with no LED DRLs in it. There are no fog lamps as well. The lower part of the bumper gets blacked out faux skid plate and there are no cameras and parking sensors on the bumper.

Coming to the side profile, the SUV gets 17 inch steel rims and the production varaint would come with a wheel cap. The ORVMs are not body coloured and they come with LED turn indicators integrated in it. The door handles are also not body coloured and there are no lower window chrome garnishes present. The thick black cladding on the lower part of the body is present all around the car. Roof rails are also missing from the Z2 base variant. As we move to the rear, the Scorpio N gets LED tail lamps, reverse parking sensors and black skid plate.

As this is the pre-production model, the third row seats in this Scorpio N gets leather upholstery while rest of the rows get fabric seats. It is yet to be seen whether Mahindra will offer side facing seats or would continue with the front facing seats for thir row passengers. As we move in the brown and black dual-tone theme is seen in the base variant too. The car seen here does offer power windows for all four windows but, the ORVMs cannot be electrically adjusted. The steering does not have any controls and there is no infotainment system too. The production version of Mahindra Scorpio N base varaint will come with a touchscreen infotainment system with 4 speaker set up.

The AC controls are manual and the seats are all fabric. There are hard plastics on dashboard, driver armrest and other parts. There is no sunroof as this is base variant and instrument cluster looks the same as higher models. This might or might not change in the production variant. Mahindra Scorpio N Z2 variant comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version uses a 2.0 litre mStallion turbocharged engine and the diesel version uses a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged engine. Both these engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the Z2 variant.
