Mahindra has recently trademarked the name ‘Scorpio X,’ hinting at a potential future model in the Scorpio lineup. This new addition will join the existing Scorpio N and Classic variants, expanding the range of offerings from Mahindra.

Expected to hit the market in 2025, the Scorpio X is anticipated to be a pickup truck model, following in the footsteps of the Global Pik Up concept showcased by Mahindra last year. Internally referred to as Z121, the Scorpio X pickup is designed to be a global offering, targeting markets such as South Africa, Australia, and the Middle East.

Built on a next-generation ladder frame platform, engineered to meet stringent safety standards such as Global NCAP and Euro NCAP crash tests, the Scorpio X is set to offer robust performance both on and off the road. While the concept version exhibited some avant-garde design elements, the production model is expected to feature a more toned-down appearance, retaining its rugged appeal with ample cladding and ground clearance.

The Scorpio X Is poised to come equipped with an array of advanced features and technology, including Level 2 Autonomous Driving, semi-automatic parking, and 5G-based connectivity features. Additionally, Mahindra aims to cater to the preferences of Indian consumers by offering a sunroof, along with Trailer Sway Mitigation, an ESP feature that enhances towing safety.

Depending on the market, Mahindra may also introduce a petrol engine option for the Scorpio X.

While the Scorpio X gears up for its international debut, Mahindra has an exciting lineup of SUVs slated for launch in India this year.
