0 107

We have seen several videos of Mahindra XUV700 on the internet. Many of them are related to the ownership experience and features and some are performance related ones. We have seen several videos of Mahindra XUV700 competing with other SUVs in a drag race. Mahindra XUV700 competes with cars like MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar in the segment. It is the only SUV in the segment to be offered with an AWD feature as an option in the top-end variant. Here we have a video where Mahindra XUV700 petrol (both manual and automatic) is seen competing against a Fortuner Legender in a drag race.

The video has been uplaoded by Explore The Unseen 2.0 on their youTube channel. In this video, vlogger and his friends take their SUVs to a closed road where they organise a drag race. In the past, vlogger and his friends have done a drag race with diesel automatic AWD version of XUV700 and it could not win against the Toyota Fortuner. This time, they brought not one but two XUV700 petrol units. One of them manual and the other automatic. They starts the race with petrol manual version.

The XUV700 petrol was driven by the vlogger in first round the owner of the Toyota Fortuner Legender was driving it. Both the SUVs were lined up and the race starts. The Toyota Fortuner Legender moved off the line instantly and took the lead. It maintained the lead throughout the race and won the race. The Mahindra XUV700 petrol manual on the other hand lost most of its power in the beginning due to wheel spin. It was launched properly but the wheel spin at the start meant rear wheel drive Legender had an upper hand.

The drivers were then changed in XUV700 manual and even after doing several races, the result remained the same. Toyota Fortuner Legender was winning by a large margin. The petrol manual driver can be heard saying in the video that there is a lag in the second gear of XUV700 petrol manual which is creating problems during the race.

After this, the second round race started and this time around, the Toyota Legender was competing with petrol automatic version. Toyota Legender generates 205 Ps and 500 Nm of peak torque while the Mahindra XUV700 petrol automatic generates 200 Ps and 380 Nm of peak torque. Although, Fortuner Legender looks more powerful on paper, it must be noted that it is heavier when compared to the XUV700. The race starts and unlike previous rounds, Mahindra XUV700 was performing well. Legender took the lead initially but after covering some distance, the automatic gearbox in the XUV700 showed its true colours and won the race by a very small margin. As it was not clear whether Mahindra XUV700 won or Toyota Legender, couple of more races were done and in all of them Mahindra XUV700 was coming out as a clear winner. The automatic gearbox in the petrol automatic was performing well and that is one of the factors that helped it win the race.
