When it comes to off-roading, there are two types of people: those who love high-powered vehicles that may be a bit too heavy, and those who love lightweight off-roaders which may not be as powerful. Recently, showing the difference between these types of vehicles, a video has been shared online. In this video, the lightweight off-roader Maruti Jimny was made to compete against more powerful and heavier SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Hilux, Ford Endeavour, and Mahindra Thar, along with other SUVs in a desert.

Jimny vs. Other SUVs on Sand

The video of this off-roading showdown of various SUVs in the sand has come courtesy of Anshuman Bishnoi from YouTube. It starts off with a Mahindra Thar attempting an obstacle where there was a steep slope that had to be crossed with a little bit of momentum. The Mahindra Thar took around 2 attempts to clear this obstacle; meanwhile, the next contestant was the Jimny, which did it in its second attempt.

Next up, the other SUVs of the group, which were the heavier ones, attempted the same course. The first was the Toyota Hilux that took a couple of attempts and a driver change to cross the obstacle. Then there was the Mahindra Scorpio-N, Toyota Fortuner, and Ford Endeavour. All of these SUVs took multiple attempts and longer run-ups to cross the sand dune. There was another unique Toyota Fortuner equipped with a V8 petrol engine. As of now, not much information about the highly modified Fortuner is available.

Other Off-Road Course

Following this first course, these SUVs were made to perform even more hardcore off-roading. These SUVs had to go down a whirlpool-like sand dune and come out of it. Like the previous course, the Jimny excelled in this course as well. However, this time around, the heavier SUVs also did great, except for the Toyota Hilux which had to be once reversed and then reattempted.
