Maruti Suzuki Invicto hybrid MPV launched at Rs 24.79 lakh

After months of teasing the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has finally launched its latest and most expensive offering to date – the highly anticipated Invicto premium hybrid SUV. As has been known for the longest this premium MPV is based on Maruti Suzuki’s Japanese automotive partner Toyota Innova hycross. The company launched the new Invicto hybrid MPV with an attractive starting price of Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will go upto Rs 28.42 Lakh (ex-showroom), the Invicto aims to bring in more premium buyers with this top-of-the-line MPV.

The exterior design of the Maruti Suzuki Invicto bears a striking resemblance to the Toyota Innova Hycross as it is based on the same platform. Notably, there are a few changes on the Invicto which include a revised front grille inspired from the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The grille is accentuated by two chrome bars in the center, replacing the Toyota moniker with the iconic Suzuki emblem. Additionally, the front bumper has been subtly tweaked to create a more distinguished look.

On the sides, the Invicto boasts eye-catching 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, reminiscent of those found in the Toyota Fortuner Legender. At the rear, the MPV retains the Innova Hycross’s overall design, except for the taillights, which now feature a darker tint. Dimensionally the Invicto is identical to the Innova Hycross measuring in at 4,755mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,795mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,850mm.

Step inside the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, and you’ll discover a refined and feature-packed cabin. The layout of the dashboard just like the exterior is mostly similar to the outgoing Innova Hycross. The Invicto offer premium amenities such as ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a full-TFT instrument console. The Invicto gets a boot space of 239 litres and it can be further expanded up to 690 litres with the third row folded down.

The Invicto’s powertrain consists of a robust hybrid, comprised of a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine coupled to an electric motor. Its combined output is 184 horsepower, and it is coupled to an e-CVT. The Invicto is now the first Maruti Suzuki vehicle to only be available in hybrid and automatic variants. The Invicto comes with an electric-only mode in addition to being a powerful hybrid. It claims to have a 0-100kph time of 9.5 seconds and a fuel economy of 23.24 kpl. The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is based on the monocoque chassis that makes use of Toyota’s TNGA-C ‘High’ platform which is the same as the Toyota Innova Hycross. The front wheels are powered by a transversely placed engine.

When it comes to safety, Maruti Suzuki Invicto comes equipped with a comprehensive range of safety features, including multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, and a reverse parking camera.
