Maruti Suzuki announced the price and commenced delivery of their all-new 4×4 SUV, Jimny, last week. We have started seeing videos of customers taking delivery of this much-awaited SUV. It should be noted that Jimny is currently the only 4×4 SUV in Maruti’s portfolio. While some are content with the vehicle as it is, there are others who wish to take things to the next level by modifying it. We have already seen a couple of examples in the past few days. Here, we have a video showcasing a brand-new Maruti Jimny Zeta variant SUV that has been modified with a set of 20-inch aftermarket alloy wheels.

The video has been uploaded by Modified Hub on his YouTube channel. The Jimny featured in the video is actually a brand-new SUV purchased by the vlogger. The vlogger opted for the Zeta variant of the SUV, which does not come with alloy wheels and lacks a few other features as well. The primary reason for choosing the lower variant was simply because the vlogger wanted to customize it to his liking. He took his car to a workshop, and it seems like he had already placed an order for the wheels even before buying them.

The vlogger opted for a distinctive design for his SUV. The stock 15-inch steel rims on the Jimny were replaced with 20-inch deep dish alloy wheels. These alloy wheels fit directly onto the hub without requiring any spacers or adjustments. The new alloy wheels completely transformed the overall appearance of the car, making it look much larger. The black and machine-cut alloy wheels complemented the overall look of the vehicle. By merely changing the wheels, the stance of the vehicle underwent a significant change. The tyres wrapped around these new alloys are imported and suitable for both on-road and off-road usage.

The vlogger mentions that the new set of wheels has not affected the off-road performance of the vehicle. However, he does note that after installing wider tires, some adjustments had to be made to the bumper. The edges of the bumper had to be trimmed to prevent interference with the tires while turning. While the larger wheels enhance the car’s appearance and increase the ground clearance of the Jimny, there are also some drawbacks associated with installing bigger wheels. One of the primary concerns is handling. By fitting such tall and wide wheels, the car’s handling characteristics undergo a complete change. In most cases, ride comfort also suffers.

Such modifications are purely based on personal preferences, which makes every car unique. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is available only with a petrol engine option. As a premium offering, it is exclusively sold through Nexa dealerships. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter K15B series, naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 105 PS and 134 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The price for the Jimny starts at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
