0 29

Maruti Suzuki launched their globally popular 4×4 SUV Jimny in India last year. As we know, it is a much more practical 5-door version of Jimny specifically developed for India and other markets. It is not a volume seller for Maruti; however, in India, Jimny has already found a space in the garage of many enthusiasts. It is an extremely capable 4×4, and here we have a video where a Maruti Suzuki Jimny is seen rescuing a Land Rover Defender and Mahindra Scorpio SUV stuck in snow.

The video has been shared on Reddit. In this video, we see a Land Rover Defender stuck in snow after it slipped away from the track. The SUV, because of its size and dimensions, was unable to pull itself out. The Maruti Jimny was probably present at the spot and decided to rescue the luxury SUV. Land Rover Defender is an extremely capable SUV, but on snow, even the best SUV and experienced driver may get stuck, as you don’t have control over the surface.

Snow is an extremely tricky surface to drive on, and if your vehicle loses grip, the chances of getting stuck or crashing into the shoulder of the road or another vehicle are pretty high. In such situations, power doesn’t matter if you don’t have enough grip. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny seen here in the video is an extremely lightweight 4×4 SUV. It looks like the SUV is equipped with tires suitable for snow and other rough terrains.

This gives the car much-needed grip. The Maruti Jimny driver ties a recovery rope in front of the Defender and pulls it out of the snow. The car manages to pull out the mammoth SUV from snow. Next in the video, we see a Mahindra Scorpio stuck in snow. It is not clear if the Scorpio seen here is the 4×4 version or not. The Mahindra Scorpio probably lost traction and was unable to make progress. The weight of the SUV was another factor that was acting against the driver in this case.

Once again, Maruti Jimny came to the rescue and recovered it from the snow. Land Rover Defender is an extremely capable off-roader and it comes with features like air suspension with adjustable height, diff locks, different drive modes, and so on. While driving through snow, one has to be extremely careful. The driver should not aggressively accelerate or apply hard brakes on this surface. If you do so, the chances of losing traction are pretty high. It is always a good option to carry a snow chain if you are planning to drive to a location with heavy snowfall.

Both Mahindra Scorpio and Defender only needed a slight pull from the Jimny so that they can get out of the pit, gain momentum, and continue to move forward. Tires also play a crucial role in such expeditions. Maruti Jimny, despite having less power and torque figures, successfully managed to pull both the SUVs out using right technique without any drama.
