Maruti Suzuki launches updated Eeco van at Rs 5.10

Maruti Suzuki – India’s largest car manufacturer launched the updated version of their popular van Eeco in the market. The price for the updated version of Maruti Eeco starts at Rs 5.10 lakh, ex-showroom. Maruti Eeco is country’s highest selling van and with an updated engine and features, it is expected to dominate the segment. It is a dual-purpose van that can be used as both private and commercial purposes. With new refreshed interiors and the latest technology and features, the New Eeco is designed to make owners proud and appeal to their families as well.

Commenting on the launch of New Eeco, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Since its launch, the Eeco has been a preferred and proud choice for over 9.75 lakh owners in the past decade and enjoys an undisputed leadership with 93% market share in its segment. Being a part of families and having provided livelihood to lakhs of entrepreneurs and businessmen, the New Eeco will continue to be a reliable and efficient vehicle. It will cater to a wide range of customer preferences as a comfortable, stylish and spacious family vehicle, while also providing flexibility for business use. This versatile multi-purpose van with an advanced powertrain, improved mileage and new features embodies pride of ownership and living life to the fullest. It represents a whole new attitude, with fresh confidence in its latest avatar. We are confident that the Eeco will continue to dominate its segment and receive much more adulation by consumers.”

The exterior design of the van remains more or less the same. The boxy shape translates to a spacious cabin which is something that everyone looks while opting for a van. However, Maruti has made several necessary changes to the interior and engine of the Eeco. Maruti says  new Eeco is constantly adapting to the changing needs of customers. One of the major updates in the new Eeco is the engine. The van now gets a 1.2 litre, naturally aspirated, Advanced K-Series, Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. This engine is more powerful and fuel efficient than the older version. It generates 80.7 Ps and 104 Nm of torque. The CNG version of the new Eeco generates 71.65 Ps and 95 nm of torque.

Other changes in the car include a new digital instrument cluster, driver focussed controls, reclining front seat, cabin air filter for AC variants, engine immobiliser, illuminated hazard switch, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, child lock for the sliding doors and windows, reverse parking sensors and so on. As mentioned above, the new engine is more efficient too. Maruti claims that the updated Eeco is 25 percent more fuel efficient than the previous version and it has a claimed efficiency of upto 20.20 kmpl. The CNG variant offers upto Rs 27.05 km per kg of gas.

Maruti is offering Eeco in 13 variants including 5 seater, 7-seater, cargo, tour and Ambulance. The price for Maruti Eeco starts at Rs 5.10 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 8.13 lakh, ex-showroom for the Ambulance version. Maruti is offering Eeco in Solid White, Metallic Silky Silver, Pearl Midnight Black, Metallic Glistening Grey, Metallic Brisk Blue which is a new colour.
