Metro Boomin, Future Replace Lil Uzi Vert on Rolling Loud Lineup

0 25

Lil Uzi Vert previously disavowed ever agreeing to perform at the fest despite being listed as a headliner

Rolling Loud next year will not feature previously announced headliner Lil Uzi Vert — the rapper, who uses they/them pronouns, said on Tuesday that they don’t even “understand why [their] name is on” the poster — so the festival’s organizers have added Metro Boomin and Future instead. The two hip-hop artists will release an album, billed to Future x Metro Boomin, before the fest, according to a tweet from Rolling Loud.

The fest, which also features headliners Nicki Minaj and Post Malone, will still take place at the Hollywood Park Grounds in Inglewood, California on March 15 – 17.

Metro Boomin put out his second album, Heroes & Villains, last December, and he produced the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which came out this past June. He has also produced tracks for Lil Durk, Young Thug, Travis Scott, and Kodak Black this year. Future’s most recent album, I Never Liked You, came out in April 2022. Also, among other tracks, Future appeared on this year’s “All the Way Live” alongside Metro Boomin and … Lil Uzi Vert.

“I never said I was doing Rolling Loud,” Lil Uzi Vert wrote in an Instagram story on Tuesday. “Don’t understand why my name is on here.” They haven’t commented further.

But even if Lil Uzi Vert isn’t appearing at Rolling Loud, specifically, their fans can still catch them on the road on dates around the U.S. through the end of this month, since they’re still promoting his album, Pink Tape, which came out this past June. Their tour ends in Philadelphia on Nov. 22. And who knows, maybe they’ll even book some gigs next year around Rolling Loud.

Reps for Rolling Loud did not immediately reply to Rolling Stone’s request for comment. But they did tweet out Future’s “It’s an evil world we live in” meme.
