MG has joined the latest trend of giving a sleek, all-dark makeover to its flagship model, the Gloster. The new MG Gloster Blackstorm edition has been introduced to the market, starting at a price of Rs 40.3 lakh, featuring a complete dark theme both on the exterior and interior. This special edition, based on the top-spec Savvy variant, has started making its way to dealerships. To provide a comprehensive view of the new version of the Gloster, YD Cars Review has uploaded a YouTube video offering a quick 360-degree tour.

In terms of the exterior, the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition is available in two color options: Metal Black and Metal Ash. The showcased color in the YouTube video is Metal Black, where the SUV receives black accents for the headlamp and tail lamp housings, as well as the roof rails. The window trims, alloy wheels, and fog lamp housings also sport a glossy black treatment. To add a sporty contrast to the all-black theme, the Gloster Blackstorm edition features red highlights in the headlamps, front and rear bumpers, brake calipers, and rearview mirrors.

The interior of the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition is revealed in the video, displaying an all-black cabin instead of the dual-tone black and tan-colored interior found in the regular variants of the SUV. The all-black cabin is enhanced with contrasting red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and dashboard.

Based on top-end variant

Based on the top-spec Savvy variant, the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition comes fully loaded with features such as a 12-way powered driver’s seat, 8-way powered co-driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, full-TFT instrument console, ventilated front seats, and a wireless charger. It also includes an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) package as standard, along with six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree parking camera.

The MG Gloster Blackstorm edition is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions, offering both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. Both versions are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, generating 163 bhp in the rear-wheel drive variant and 218 bhp in the four-wheel drive variant. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard for both versions, while the four-wheel drive variant also features a BorgWarner transfer case with a shift-on-fly system.

The prices for the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition range from Rs 40.3 lakh to Rs 43.08 lakh, making it approximately Rs 1.5 lakh more expensive than the current top-spec Savvy variant of the SUV. With the Gloster Blackstorm edition, MG aims to intensify its competition with the Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X, its primary ladder-on-frame rivals.
