Microsoft Outlook Lite Android App Is Live, But There’s A Catch
Microsoft has officially launched the Outlook Lite email app for Android. Not everyone can use it, though. So, what’s the deal? Well, Microsoft decided to launch it in only some markets, for now. The company did say that it will drop in more regions, though.

It is now available in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Venezuela.
So, what’s the deal with this app? Outlook Lite is made for lower-end phones, basically. It’s made for phones that find the regular Outlook app overbearing, basically. It weighs only 5 MB, and won’t take up much storage on your phone.
It’s also quite fast on basically any device, as it’s optimized for phones with 1GB of RAM. Microsoft says that the app also doesn’t use much battery, and that it works really well on both 2G and 3G networks (in addition to 4G and 5G, of course).
In addition to your emails, you also get calendar and contacts functionality

The app UI looks really nice. It’s exactly what you’d expect out of an Outlook app these days, actually. There are three tabs available in the lower area of the display, containing Email, Calendar, and People shortcuts.
You can quickly go to a different part of the app thanks to these tabs, which remain there most of the time. They will disappear once you start writing an email, and so on, but will remain there while you’re navigating the app (for the most part).
The app had 15 reviews at the time of writing this article, and they’re mostly positive. It’s currently holding a 4.7-star rating in the Google Play Store. So, if you live in one of the countries listed above, and have a lower-end device, trying out this app may be a good idea.
