The launch of Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s newest crossover, the Fronx, is just around the corner. However, even before its official debut, some important specifications of the car have been leaked online. The spec sheet of the new Fronx reveals that the car will provide a mileage of 21.5kpl in manual transmission and 20.01kpl in automatic transmission with its 1.0-liter turbo-petrol motor. Meanwhile, it will provide a mileage of 21.79kpl in manual and 22.89kpl in automatic transmission with the 1.2-liter petrol engine.

For those who are still unaware, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be offered with two petrol engine options. It will be able to generate a maximum power of 100.06 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 147.6 Nm. This engine will be offered with a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The other powerplant on offer from Maruti Suzuki for the Fronx will be a naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre K-Series engine. This motor will be able to produce a maximum power of 89.73 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Maruti Suzuki will offer a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT transmission with this engine.

Dimensionally, the Fronx will measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, 1,550 mm in height, and will have a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. In terms of design, the ambitious crossover from the Indo-Japanese carmaker takes significant influence on the front end from its elder sibling, the mid-size Grand Vitara. However, it is actually based on its hatchback sibling, the Baleno’s platform. The Fronx’s massive grille is framed by a long strip of chrome on the front end. Talking about the front, it features a split headlamp setup where in place of the conventional headlamps, there are LED DRLs that also function as the turn indicators, and the reflector-based LED headlamps are placed where fog lamps would be.

From the side, the crossover boasts a tall roofline and gets thick claddings and silver garnishes on fenders and doors, respectively. Moving on to the rear of the car, it features a set of LED taillamps, which are connected by a long strip of LEDs. The rear end is just as upright as the front end of the crossover SUV.

The dual-tone interior of the brand-new Fronx gets a multifunctional steering wheel, infotainment system, and instrument cluster that are reminiscent of those in the Baleno. Together with other amenities, the automobile gets a faux leather interior and a wireless car charger. The 9.0-inch free-floating SmartPlay infotainment system has connectivity features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Fronx also has six airbags, an automated climate control system, and other similar features to the Baleno. In actuality, the bulk of the Fronx’s features are also featured in the Baleno hatchback.
