Mojang reveals two new Minecraft 1.21 features – Destructoid

0 17

In a post on the Minecraft Blog, Mojang revealed two of the new features coming to Minecraft Update 1.21. The first of the two new features is a new block: The Vault, a special new storage block that protects against players who steal all the loot at the end of a trial. The second is the Wind Charge, a new item that drops from defeated breezes and allows you to harness their power.

New Minecraft Block: The Vault

According to Mojang, The Vault makes multiplayer adventures more rewarding for everyone. They can’t be crafted, and can only be found in trial chambers. In the current version of Minecraft, trial chambers have chests that reward players for completing them. The chests can be looted and left empty by other players, which typically happens by that one greedy friend.

With The Vault block, however, it rewards every player that unlocks it using a trial key one time. You will still have to activate a trial spawner and defeat the waves of mobs to get the trial key. But once it’s in your grasp, each player can use their key one time to loot what’s in the vault.

Breezes will now drop a new item: Wind Charges. Players can use Wind Charges to harness the power of the Breezes. While wielding a Wind Charge, players can launch a projectile of air at their foes which deals damage and sends nearby mobs flying into the air.

You can also use the power of wind to your advantage, using the Wind Charge knockback effect to boost your own jumping ability. Like The Vault, Wind Charges cannot be crafted. They can only be obtained by defeating Breezes and looting the Wind Charges off of them.

Players interested in testing out the two new features can do so if they have an active Realm subscription. Simply create a new Testing Realm and it will be updated to have the two new features enabled for testing.

There’s no word yet on when to expect these new Minecraft 1.21 features other than when the new update releases.
