Montreal singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin leads this year’s Juno Awards nominations with six nods.

Cardin, who took home four trophies during the 2022 edition of the Canadian music celebration, is up for album of the year and pop album.

Toronto R&B singer Daniel Caesar and Ottawa-born Nicholas Durocher, a.k.a. Talk, follow closely behind with five noms each.

Fresh off her performance at last weekend’s NHL All-Star Game, breakout Calgary pop singer Tate McRae is up for three awards, including artist of the year. Folk singer-songwriter Allison Russell, who won a Grammy Sunday night, is also nominated in three categories, including songwriter of the year.

Aysanabee, actor and rapper Connor Price, production duo DVBBS and Canada power-pop singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith all also notched three noms apiece.

Canada’s biggest night of music will feature performances from host Nelly Furtado, The Beaches, Cardin, this year’s Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee Maestro Fresh Wes, country star Josh Rosh, British Columbia-based Punjabi singer Karan Aujla and Talk. Tegan and Sara will also make a special appearance as they are set to receive the humanitarian award from actor Elliot Page.

Following her stint hosting the 2007 Junos, Furtado is promising a “spicy” and “sexy” broadcast.

“I’m going to bring my A-game of keeping the festivities rolling along and bringing the fun, fashion and energy,” the I’m Like a Bird hitmaker told the Canadian Press.

The 53rd Annual Juno Awards air live on CBC from Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre on March 24.
