Morgan Wallen is the latest artist to join the roster of performers for the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.

The country star, who is up for 16 awards after landing 17 entries as a finalist this year in a tie with SZA for the second most nods of any artist this year, will perform “98 Braves” with an audience featuring members of the 1998 Atlanta MLB team at the Braves’ current home of Truist Park in Atlanta.

Wallen’s performance comes in the middle of his sold-out U.S. tour, as the 2023 Billboard Music Awards is forgoing a traditional network broadcast for a digital awards show that will feature performances and winner celebrations from around the globe, including artists’ tour stops as other custom venues.

Wallen, the leading male finalist this year, is up for two awards for his album One Thing At a Time and his song “Last Night” is up for three awards, including top Hot 100 song.

Wallen joins previously announced BBMA performers David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, Karol G, NewJeans and Peso Pluma. Additional performers will be announced this week.

Performances and awards as part of the BBMAs will roll out across the BBMA and Billboard social channels on Sunday, Nov. 19 beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The Billboard Music Awards are presented by Dick Clark Productions. DCP is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.
