Mozilla has no plans to optimize Firefox for Android tablets anytime soon

0 11

While most people choose Google Chrome over all the other web browsers on an Android smartphone, there are still a lot of people who prefer Mozilla Firefox on the platform. However, the user interface (UI) of Firefox for Android is not optimized for tablet usage, which is quite disappointing for those people as they have to switch to a different web browser on their Android tablet. Unfortunately for them, Mozilla says that the company has no plans to optimize Firefox for Android for tablet usage anytime soon.

A Reddit user came across a review of Firefox on the Google Play Store where the person said that he had to switch to other web browsers on his tablet as the user interface of Firefox is not optimized for tablet usage. Mozilla replied to that review by saying that the company would love to optimize the UI of Firefox for Android for tablet usage but at the moment, it is not a priority as it has more important things to focus on. It suggests that Mozilla isn’t going to optimize Firefox for tablet usage on Android anytime soon.

Furthermore, Mozilla adds that the company hopes to revisit the issue when it has time and resources. Additionally, a developer recently said on the Bugzilla forum that people can expect Firefox to behave in a better way on an Android tablet in the first half of this year. Until then, it would be best to use Google Chrome or Samsung Internet on an Android tablet. Speaking of which, Samsung recently removed Samsung Internet for Windows from the Microsoft Store after releasing it on the platform accidentally.
