Mukesh Ambani’s city convoy has 5 Range Rovers, 2 Discovery Sports & 3 Glosters (Video)
Last month, the Indian government upgraded the security cover given to Mukesh Ambani to Z+ after a threat review. The billionaire businessman who owns some of the most expensive cars in the country was spotted in a convoy of cars worth almost Rs 30 crore!
Ambani himself is travelling in the most expensive car in the convoy, which is a Mercedes-Benz S-Guard. This is the latest-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Guard that Ambani received earlier this year. The cost of this car is likely to be more than Rs 10 crore depending on the customisation level. The W222 Mercedes S600 Guard has been designed to look as regular as possible. That’s to ensure that the vehicle’s appearance does not give out the fact that it is a bulletproof vehicle.

This is the armoured version of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan and comes with VR10-level protection, which makes it the first civilian vehicle in the world to get this certification. It translates into withstanding steel core bullets fired directly at the car and even 15 kg of TNT blast from a distance of 2 metres! It comes with a long list of features including a reinforced base structure and a special underbody armour with polycarbonate-coated windows. The vehicle is made up of special steel and the body shell is made up of reinforced steel.
It comes powered by a massive 6.0-litre V12, bi-turbocharged petrol engine that develops a massive 523 Bhp and 850 Nm of torque. It gets a seven-speed automatic transmission. Even the suspension of the car has been re-tuned to handle the extra weight while providing maximum comfort.
Land Rover Range Rover Vogue
The Land Rover Range Rover Vogue is the most expensive vehicle in the Ambani’s security detail and there are at least five of them. The Ambani convoy already had a few Range Rovers but they were unmarked. It seems that they are converting these cars with strobe lights and police stickers to be more authoritative on public roads. This car is waiting outside the Antila. Even though the exact version and specs of this Range Rover are not known, a new one costs anything between Rs 2 crore and Rs 3.5 crore.
Land Rover Discovery
The Ambani convoy also uses a slew of Land Rover Discovery Sport SUVs. The capable SUVs are marked with police stickers and strobe lights. The exact number of the Discovery Sport SUVs in the convoy is not known but we have spotted at least five different ones at different times. The latest Discovery costs around Rs 80 lakh, ex-showroom.
MG Gloster
We are not sure if the state has provided the MG Gloster to the police or if the vehicle belongs to the Ambani family. Major speculation happened when the BMW X5 SUVs became part of the Ambani convoy a few years ago. The BMW X5 SUVs had CISF logos on the side. CISF provides security cover to the family and it turned out that the vehicles were bought by the Ambanis for the use of the security personnel.
It is quite possible that the Ambanis gave the MG Gloster to the Mumbai Police personnel who are deployed to keep the family safe. While the Ambani family or any of the security agencies gave any clarification on the use of the high-end luxury cars, a few people have claimed that the cars were upgraded so that the security can keep up with the high-end vehicles used by the family. The Gloster cost around Rs 40 lakh, 0n-road.
Toyota Fortuner
There are also multiple white-coloured Toyota Fortuner that provide cover to the family members of Mukesh Ambani. No one knows the exact count of the Fortuner in the security detail of the Ambani family but there are at least 6 of them that we have spotted in different Ambani convoys. All the Fortuners used by the security detail are of the new generation and all of them are in white colour.
There are other cars like Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Mahindra XUV500 in the convoy too. This is definitely the most expensive civilian convoy that we have spotted in India to date.
