Porsche unveils the interior of the upcoming third-gen Panamera, featuring a tech-rich dashboard with screens, intuitive controls, and upgraded powertrains.

German automobile manufacturer Porsche has officially shown the inside of the third-generation Panamera sports sedan, which will make its global debut on November 24.

The inside of the Panamera is dominated by screens, as it is in the new Cayenne and Taycan. It adopts the “Driver Experience” control approach initially introduced in the Porsche Taycan, which means that driver controls are all clustered together rather than hidden behind multiple menus.

New Porsche Panamera: Interior Details

According to motor1.com, the new Panamera has a slab-sided dashboard with a flowing central console design, but the displays are the most noticeable distinction between the previous and new models. The new Panamera has a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch passenger display as an option. To reduce distraction, this passenger screen is invisible to the driver, but it allows the front passenger to set a lap timer or sat-nav, adjust media settings, or even view streaming services such as YouTube.

While the previous Panamera was one of the last Porsches to feature an analogue tachometer, the new all-digital driver’s display (located somewhat farther back in the dashboard) allows for up to seven alternative perspectives, including the original five-dial layout. Passengers in the back may also use a centrally situated touchscreen to control media, navigation, and ambient lighting.

Furthermore, a cleaner arrangement is provided by the electrically controlled central AC vent and haptic controls with toggle switches for the HVAC system. Porsche has also made more room on the central console by converting the gear selector to a simple toggle and placing it between the dash and infotainment screen.

This now provides two huge cup holders as well as some more storage space. Porsche’s phoney turn-key starter has also been replaced with a stop or start button. For the first time, the Panamera will be available with leather-free upholstery made of Race-Tex and Pepita cloth.

Even though it is a large and heavy car that can comfortably seat at least four people, the Panamera features a driver-centric interior with most functions conveniently accessible. In addition, the driving mode option is located on the steering wheel, which also houses the toggle switch for navigating the digital instrument cluster’s menus. The optional head-up display may also be operated from the steering wheel.

New Porsche Panamera: Powertrain

The Panamera will receive a revamped range of petrol powertrains, all with extensively altered exhaust systems and updated software to satisfy Euro 7 emissions rules.
