0 38

The South Korean automotive giant, Hyundai, is currently developing its newest SUV, the Hyundai Exter, and the launch of this micro SUV is just around the corner. Recently, a few spy shots of the vehicle were shared online, showing the model in a completely undisguised form. In further advancements, after the first leak of pictures, another set of spy shots have made their way onto the internet, which show the model in a closer view without any camouflage.

The pictures of the car have been shared by a South Korean media outlet, and these pictures show the Hyundai Exter from the front and rear. From the first exterior picture of the Exter, we can note that this SUV, rivaling Tata Punch, will come equipped with a very boxy design and will feature a split headlight design. The top half will boast the H-shaped LED DRLs, which have been teased by the brand in a sketch released by them, and the bottom half will have square pods with projector headlights like we already see in the outgoing Hyundai Venue sub-compact SUV.

The forthcoming Hyundai Exter will also boast a sizable rectangular grille, and underneath it, there will be a chunky silver skid plate as well. From the picture, we can also note that the SUV will also get some squared-off front wheel arches with thick black cladding, and the body lines on it will be extremely sharp as well. Furthermore, a unique set of alloy wheels on the side can also be noticed in the leaked spy shot.

Moving on to the rear spy shot, we can note that the micro SUV from the South Korean carmaker will also boast a squared-off design. We can also notice the H pattern on the LED taillamps as well, along with a thick black piece connecting the two ends of the SUV. The C pillar of the SUV will also boast a unique design. Moving a little further below, we can also note a sculpted bumper with thick black cladding and a massive skid plate as well.

The Exter, as mentioned, will most likely be launched in June of this year and could be priced in the range of Rs 6-10 lakh. According to reports, the company could be offering the model with a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine that can generate 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. The standard gearbox offered will be a 5-speed manual, while a 5-speed AMT may also be provided as an option. The higher variants of the vehicle might also come with the option of a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which is already offered in the Venue.

Once launched in India, this model will compete directly with Tata’s highly popular micro SUV, Punch, in India. It will also go against the compact SUV C3 from French automaker Citroen and lesser-equipped versions of the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
