New Trailer Drops With Timothee Chalament, Zendaya
Sure, Dune: Part Two could’ve already been in theaters by now in an alternate universe where striking actors got a fair contract right off the bat — but, hey, at least there’s now a third trailer to tide us over until the second half of the sci-fi epic arrives next year.
The dramatic new clip largely revolves around Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani, their relationship steeped in both budding romance and revolution as the Fremen continue their fight for freedom on Arrakis. “Your blood comes from dukes and great houses — here, we’re equal” Chani tells Paul early on in the clip. “What we do, we do for the benefit of all.”
Paul, sweet boy and apocryphal savior that he is, replies, “Well, I very much like to be equal to you.” (Cue a tender kiss on the dunes of Arrakis.)
Other highlights from the trailer include some wild footage of Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, the bald, psychotic, knife-licking, throat-slashing successor to the throne of the ruthless House Harkonnen. And after seeing Chalamet ride a sand worm in a previous teaser, the new Dune clip offers some fantastic shots of the giant beasts in action, erupting out of the desert and ostensibly helping the Fremen in their fight for freedom.
Dune: Part Two was directed by Denis Villeneuve and is set to (finally) hit theaters March 1. Along with Chalamet, Zendaya, and Butler, the film stars Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, Stellan Skarsgård, and Javier Bardem.
