Nintendo has announced plans to hold another Direct conference in 2023. The Nintendo Direct Indie Showcase takes place at 5pm BST UK time on the afternoon of April 19. Running for approximately 20 minutes, the Indie World Showcase will feature a combination of brand new game reveals, and updates about previously announced indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch. You can watch the entire thing live by clicking play on the YouTube video below.

The news was announced by Nintendo on Twitter: “Join us tomorrow, 19/04, at 17:00 (UK time) for a new Indie World Showcase!

“Tune in for roughly 20 minutes of reveals, announcements, and updates on indie games for Nintendo Switch.”

Rumours have already started to circulate about what will make an appearance during the event.

Most fans will be hoping for an update on Hollow Knight Silksong, which feels like it’s been in development forever.

Tipped to launch in 2023, the Hollow Knight sequel sees players take control of Hornet, who must use a host of unlockable skills to explore a “vast, haunted kingdom”.

“Play as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, and adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song!” reads the official description.

“Captured and brought to this unfamiliar world, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.”

Personally, I’m hoping we see more from Metal Slug Tactics, as well as wrestling-based RPG Wrestlequest.

A spinoff of the popular arcade shoot-em-up series, Metal Slug Tactics is a roguelike strategy game with turn-based combat.

Wrestlequest is a role-playing game in which players attempt to rise through the ranks of the professional wrestling world.
