0 45

Nothing has started rolling out a new update to the Nothing Phone (1), and it includes a slew of camera improvements. That’s not all, though, as it includes a new security patch, and some additional changes.

This update is marked at Nothing OS 1.1.4, and all the changes are listed in the company’s changelog. So, let’s see what’s new. Let’s start with the very new features first, shall we, as those are included here too.

New Nothing Phone (1) update delivers a lot of changes, camera improvements included

Nothing is now giving a chance to flip around the 3-button navigation bar, in case you use it. Ear (1) app features are now integrated into Nothing OS. You can now customize gesture controls and switch Noise Cancellation modes directly from the Quick Settings and Settings.

The last new feature is the addition of LHDC high-def audio support. Audiophiles will simply love this update, it seems, and the new features are heavily audio-focused.

Now, in terms of system changes, let’s mention the new security patch first. This is the patch for September. Nothing also reduced the battery consumption for an Always On Display, and some other use cases.

The thermal performance has been improved too, and the same goes for the Face Unlock algorithm. The company also brings forth a new UI for system updates here.

What about the camera changes? Well, Nothing added a new option to add a Nothing-themed watermark to the camera app. It also improved the ultrawide camera color calibration, and increased color consistency between main and ultrawide cameras.

A new motion detection algorithm has been added for improved stability when shooting moving objects. The last change mentions increased shooting speed when using HDR in ultrawide mode.

Some bug fixes are also included

We’ve already listed plenty of changes, and we’re not done yet. There are also some bug fixes worth noting here. The company fixed network issues for certain carriers, and also fixes an issue causing incoming calls to show up as unknown contacts.

The HDFC Bank app fingerprint issue has also been fixed, and other, general bug fixes are also listed. This update is already rolling out to the Nothing Phone (1) units, though it’s rolling out in stages. In other words, it may take a couple of days to reach you.
