Nothing smartwatch seems to be in the works

Nothing could be branching out even further, as the company’s first smartwatch seems to be in the works. This info has been revealed by a certification body in India, by BIS. Do note that the featured image represents just a third-party concept.

A Nothing smartwatch could be in the works, as it just got certified

The ‘Nothing D395’ device has been certified, and it’s listed under the smartwatch category. That is pretty much everything we know about this product at this point.

Some of you may instantly think that this watch is launching alongside the Nothing Phone (2) next month, but that likely won’t happen. Nothing hasn’t really been teasing a smartwatch or anything of the sort.

It would be interesting to see the design of this watch

It’s more likely it’ll launch later this year or perhaps even next year. Nothing never said it’s not open to the idea of a smartwatch, and it would surely be interesting to see what it can deliver in that regard.

The Nothing Phone (1), and the company’s earbuds had a really interesting design, easy to recognize. The charging cable Carl Pei teased for the Nothing Phone (2) also looks very interesting.

We wonder how would Nothing’s design language translate to a smartwatch. Using see-through materials on a watch is a slippery slope, though. Let’s hope Nothing will deliver something, as that would be interesting to see.

Carl Pei doesn’t really get smartwatches, at least that was the case back in February

In any case, back in February, Carl Pei said that he got the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. “to learn about smartwatches”. Back then, he said that it “feels kind of useless”, though, and asked his followers what they use smartwatches for.

That could be an indication that Carl Pei is investigating the smartwatch market, and could be an indication that Nothing’s watch truly is coming. We’ll have to wait and see. Before that happens, however, we have a Nothing Phone (2) launch to get ready for. That will happen on July 11, by the way.
