nubia Red Magic 8S Pro confirmed to have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 at the helm

0 79

The nubia Red Magic 8S Pro arriving on July 5 was rumored to have the unannounced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC at the helm. However, those rumors have turned out to be wrong since the company has announced that the Red Magic 8S Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

nubia also revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powering the Red Magic 8S Pro would have its prime core clocked at up to 3.36GHz, unlike the Red Magic 8 Pro, whose Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 prime core has a maximum clock frequency of 3.2GHz.

nubia previously confirmed the Red Magic 8S Pro will have 24GB of RAM onboard, but it’s yet to detail the smartphone’s specs sheet. Rumors claimed the Red Magic 8S Pro is the Red Magic 8 powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but since the company has confirmed that’s not the case, it remains to be seen whether or not the Red Magic 8S Pro will share the rest of its specs with the vanilla model.

The nubia Red Magic 8S Pro’s official unveiling is over a week away, so expect nubia to confirm a few more features of the smartphone in the lead-up to the event. In the meantime, you can read our nubia Red Magic 8 Pro’s detailed review. We also have a video review which is linked below.
