nVent Interview Experience for Software Engineer
NVENT visited our campus around the third week of September. Firstly, there was a pre-placement talk. They explained the interview process. After cracking the aptitude test, which included two basic DSA questions, I got an invitation to the next round of technical interviews.
I attended the offline interview, and initially, the interviewer asked about myself, then asked about my skillset and started asking me the basics of DSA. I answered most of the questions. It included questions from operating systems, database management, and computer networks.
After around 30 minutes, the interview concluded, and he said to wait for further rounds. After that, the second round started.
Interviewer: Congratulations on being selected for the second round. Do you know the implementation of stacks, linked lists, and queues?
Me: Yes!
Interviewer: Great. Can you show an implementation of a stack using a queue?
Me: Sure. I started working on it.
After explaining the logic, I wrote the code in the paper. The interviewer told me to optimize the code. After making some changes, he was satisfied and asked me two questions from the linked list and stack. However, I was able to solve only two of the three questions asked. The interview lasted up to an hour. In the end, he asked if he had any doubts or questions regarding the role or the company. I asked about my performance and a few questions regarding the company, and the interview ended. After a while, I received the invitation for the HR round on the same day.
