On Friday, as she celebrated the release of her Guts (Spilled) deluxe album, Rodrigo dropped the pageant queen, fever dream music video for “Obsessed.”
Earlier this week, she teased the video which featured her in a room full of her ex’s other former lovers. “Miss Thought She Was the One” and “Miss Also Thought She Was the One” blow smoke in her direction as she enters a crowded banquet hall in a black dress while everyone else dons sleek white gowns.
Sitting around the tables are nearly two dozen women, all with their own superlatives: “Miss Still His ‘Closest Friend,’” “Miss 2 Summers Ago,” “Miss Mom’s Favorite.”
Rodrigo has been performing “Obsessed” during her Guts world tour. “Rodrigo cemented her position in pop culture as a generation-defining artist. As a rockstar. And as an energy-filled idol that is only just beginning her career,” read a Rolling Stone review of the show.
“Obsessed” is included on the deluxe edition of Guts, which also features tracks “Girl I’ve Always Been,” “Scared of My Guitar,” “Stranger,” and “So American.” The tracks were previously included on different variants of the Guts vinyl record.
