Samsung has just started rolling out the 3rd One UI Watch 5 beta firmware for the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5 lineups. Beta 3 weighs around 426MB, comes with the July security patch, and improves a handful of things for both the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5.

It is confirmed that the One UI Watch 5 beta 3 firmware is now available in South Korea, at the very least, but should also be rolling out to participating Samsung Members in the USA.

What’s new in One UI Watch 5 beta 3?

The official changelog mentions that the 3rd beta corrects an error related to blood oxygen readings during sleep and improves sleep measurements. One UI Watch 5 beta 3 also improves the Galaxy Watch’s screen visibility outdoors and in bright environments.

Furthermore, the changelog mentions improvements to power supply management, which could mean that the latest beta build improves battery life on the Wear OS Galaxy Watches.

And last but not least, the new One UI Watch 5 beta build comes with the latest security patch for July 2023. Up until now, Samsung released the July patch publicly on Galaxy smartphones including the Galaxy S22 and S23 series, along with the Galaxy A53.

Samsung kicked off beta testing for the Wear OS 4-based firmware a month ago, in early June. The company followed up with a second beta build a week later. Every new beta build that goes live through Samsung Members brings the One UI Watch 5 update closer to a public release, which will likely happen after Samsung unveils the Galaxy Watch 6 series at Unpacked on July 27.
