OnePlus already confirmed that it will show off a new ‘Concept’ smartphone at MWC 2023 later this month. Now, we get our first look at the device. The OnePlus 11 Concept will feature a “flowing back” with LED lighting.

Many of you may get the Nothing Phone (1) vibes immediately, which is understandable, but this implementation does look considerably different. If you take a look at the provided image above, you’ll see what we mean.

The device will include a stream-type LED lighting pattern, and an LED ring around the camera, which doesn’t visibly connect to the rest of the stream. The phone will also be made out of glass, says Engadget.

Truth be said, we are getting more gaming PC vibes from this, than the Nothing Phone (1) vibes. That’s probably due to the shape of the LED lighting on the back, of course. Perhaps OnePlus is trying to emphasize the gaming prowess of this phone.

OnePlus says that these lights are here to “show the engineering breakthroughs of the OnePlus 11 Concept by highlighting the icy blue pipelines which run through the entire back of the phone, almost like OnePlus 11 Concept has its own series of blood vessels”.

OnePlus is no stranger to releasing “concept” phones. The OnePlus 8T concept included a color-changing back, while the OnePlus Concept One had electrochromic glass over its cameras, which was able to hide the camera entirely.

This phone will be based on the OnePlus 11, of course

The OnePlus 11 Concept will be based on the OnePlus 11, of course. It will probably share the same spec sheet of OnePlus’ new flagship. That means that we’ll get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and most probably 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, as that’s the most powerful OnePlus 11 variant. UFS 4.0 flash storage will also be used.

This phone will become official on February 27. The company’s press event will start at 9 PM CET / 3 PM EST / noon PST. We still don’t know if it will be available to purchase, or will it only serve as a showcase device.
