OnePlus Ace Racing Edition Arrives With Powerful Specs, Audio Jack
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is now official. This is the phone Evan Blass teased a couple of days ago, that mysterious device whose images he shared. The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is technically a mid-range smartphone, but its specs are quite powerful.
Let’s talk about the design first, though, shall we. The phone comes in Black and Blue color options, while it includes a display camera hole in the top-left corner. Its display is flat, while its bottom bezel is thicker than the rest of them.
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition has a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and advanced cooling
Three cameras are placed on the back of this phone, while you’ll notice a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Its rear camera island does protrude a little bit, but not by much. It’s located in the top-left corner.
Now, this phone includes an 8-layer cooling system that has a larger area of liquid-cooled VC, diamond thermal conductive material, ultra-high density graphite, and a 360-degree antenna. On top of that, it has a HyperBoost game frame stabilization engine.
It has a 120Hz LCD display, not an OLED one
Unlike the OnePlus Ace, its sibling, it doesn’t include an OLED display. This phone has a 6.59-inch fullHD+ (2412 x 1080) LCD display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It also offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max So fuels the device. OnePlus is offering 8GB and 12GB RAM variants of the device. The first comes in 128GB and 256GB storage flavors, while the latter includes 256GB of storage. We’re looking at LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage here, by the way.
67W charging is included, in addition to a large battery
A 5,000mAh battery is included inside the phone, and the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition supports 67W charging. OnePlus says that it takes 29 minutes for the device to charge from 0 to 80-percent.
A 64-megapixel main camera (f/1.7 aperture) sits on the back, in addition to an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture). The company also included a 2-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture). A single 16-megapixel camera (f/2.05 aperture) is included on the phone’s front side.
This handset does include a 3.5mm headphone jack as well, and the same goes for an X-axis vibration motor. It does support Wi-Fi 6, and 5G connectivity, and has an NFC chip.
Do note that this phone got launched in China, and it remains to be seen if it will arrive to more markets. It measures 164.3 x 75.8 x 8.7mm, and weighs 205 grams. Its pricing starts at CNY1,999 ($297).
