OnePlus is rumored to be working on its first set of foldable devices, and we’re eager to know more about them. According to 9To5Google, OnePlus’ first foldable phones may have had their names leaked.
While Samsung is the leader of the foldable market, other companies have brought their own takes to the foldable form factor. Companies like Motorola, Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo have launched their own foldable phones, and they’re all good enough to give the Korean giant a run for its money. Sadly, Samsung’s grip on the market is just too big.

Now, OnePlus seems to be throwing its hat into the foldable phone market. The company is looking to focus more on big-screen devices since we just word about its first tablet coming in February. Who knows if the company will tease its foldable phones during the event?
In any case, we have an idea of what these devices will be called. Thanks to Twitter user Makul Sharma (via 9To5Google), OnePlus trademarked the names “OnePlus V Fold” and “OnePlus V Flip”. Given that naming scheme, we can tell that the V Fold will be the notebook-style foldable phone and the V Flip will be the clamshell.
At the moment, we don’t know much about these devices- well, we might actually know a lot about them. As you know, OnePlus and Oppo have been extremely close for years being owned by BBK. The two companies are basically siamese twins, being joined at the hit in many respects but maintaining their own identities.
OnePlus has used resources from Oppo for years. So it’s likely that OnePlus’ foldable phones will be rebranded Oppo foldable phones. Oppo’s most recent foldable phones, the Oppo Find N2 and Find N2 Flip, were amazing devices, but they didn’t hit the US market. Oppo’s name doesn’t really have any presence in the states- but you know what does have a presence in the states? OnePlus.
We expect the OnePlus V series phone to be the American doppelgangers to Oppo’s foldable phones. Thus, we can expect similar specs between these phones. That’s only speculation, so you’ll want to take that with a grain of salt.
Oppo Find N2 specs
The Oppo Find N2 has a 7.1-inch unfolded screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2120 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. This is all powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
As for the camera, it has a 50MP main camera, a 32MP zoom camera, and a 48MP ultrawide camera. Up front, there’s a 32MP selfie shooter. Keeping the lights on is a 4520mAh battery.
If this is a rebrand, then the specs are expected to be similar. Maybe the processor will be bumped up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Only time will tell.
