OnePlus Nord 2 Is Now Receiving Stable Android 12 Update

0 62

A stable Android 12 update has started rolling out to the OnePlus Nord 2. This update comes with OxygenOS 12, of course, and it is rolling out OTA (Over The Air) as we speak.

The OnePlus Nord 2 is getting Android 12, a month after the first Beta build

The very first Android 12 Beta build for the device was released about a month ago. The second beta arrived last week, and now the stable build is here. Do note that it may take some time to arrive to your device, though, as it’s rolling out in stages.

Another thing to note is that the update is rolling out to a small number of users in India first. If everything goes according to plan, without major bugs, the rollout will quickly spread to other devices.

This is a rather large update, needless to say. First and foremost, it weighs almost 5GB, so it may be a good idea for you to be connected to a Wi-Fi network before you download it. The update itself does bring a lot of changes.

There are a lot of changes included in this update

The changelog is quite long, and it only includes changes on the OnePlus’ side of things (images below). On top of that, you’re also getting a ton of changes that Google made to core Android 12, along with most of the features.

This update adds a new Smart Battery Engine, and it also optimizes AI System Booster. Desktop icons now offer improved textures, while the dark mode has been improved as well. It now offers three adjustable levels, so that you can tweak it to your preferences.

The OnePlus Shelf has seen an improvement as well. New style options have been added for Cards, while you can access the OnePlus Scout from the Shelf now. The OnePlus Watch Card has been added to the Shelf as well.

Work Life Balance feature is now available to all users, while it supports automatic Work/Life mode switches, and much more than that, as we’re looking at version 2.0 here.

The OnePlus Gallery now offers some new tricks

The OnePlus Gallery has also seen an improvement. You can now switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture. The app will also recognize the best quality pictures, and more.

AOD (Always On Display) improvements are also in place, while the company has added the HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer for games.

You’re also getting a complete revamp of the UI, and much more on the Android side of things. Do note that OxygenOS 12 will look considerably different than OxygenOS 11, though.
