OnePlus Nord series sets the bar high for smartphone tech in 2022; unveils new smartphone at the Summer Launch Event
Ahead of the launch event, the company has revealed some of the features of this powerful device, which is designed to deliver outstanding power to those of us who live dynamic lifestyles and like to multitask with their smart devices.
All we know about the OnePlus Nord 3 5G
The new smartphone will sport a pure and understated design, with a seamlessly flat display minus the plastic screen. “OnePlus Nord is all about giving our users pretty much everything they could ask for, and this starts with a great OnePlus design. I’m excited to be sharing this first look at the OnePlus Nord 3 5G and look forward to sharing more over the next few weeks,” said OnePlus COO and President Kinder Liu, through a Twitter post.
OnePlus has unveiled the back design of the new model ahead of its launch event, which will come in two exciting colourways — a Tempest Gray in a textured matte finish for those who like to play it safe and glossy Misty Green for the slightly more experimental.
The new model will have a 17.12 cm, 120Hz Super Fluid Display for a totally immersive watching experience. It will also come with a OnePlus alert slider on the side so you can take control of your notifications and volume levels.
OnePlus devices have always been known for their amazing photography capabilities and the OnePlus Nord 3 5G is no exception there as it promises to deliver a top-of-the-range photography experience to its users.
The camera system will come as an upgrade to what we have seen in the Nord series so far with a Sony IMX890 sensor in the main camera, which is the same 50 megapixel sensor used in this year’s smash hit flagship phone, the OnePlus 11 5G. It also comes equipped with the same Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) technology, which gives you crystal clear shots minus the blur.
One of the USPs of OnePlus phones which delivers outstanding clicks every time, no matter what the shooting conditions, is the specialised OnePlus proprietary photography algorithms. This technology received much acclaim on the OnePlus 11 and has been brought back in the new OnePlus Nord 3 5G. The smartphone also features one of the best photography hardware in its segment.

“OnePlus Nord 3 5G may be our newest mid-range phone, but that doesn’t mean it will give a mid-range photography experience,” said COO and President Liu, in another post on his Twitter handle. “We’ve taken the core of our flagship OnePlus 11’s camera technology and brought it to OnePlus Nord 3 5G to make sure our users get a great experience with every photo they take,” he said.

What more to expect at the launch?
The July 5 event will also see the launch of two more exciting new devices from the OnePlus kitty — the OnePlus Nord CE3 5G smartphone and the OnePlus Nord Buds 2r. The OnePlus Nord CE3 5G will come with a 17.02 cm 120 Hz Fluid AMOLED display for an immersive watching experience and a fast and smooth Snapdragon chipset that lends the phone its power. It is being launched in an exciting Aqua Surge colourway which is sure to steal the show!
Also in the offing at the launch event are the OnePlus Nord Buds 2r, the new wireless earphones which will come with Dual Microphones and an AI Clear Call Algorithm so that you can hear every call loud and clear as all the noise in the background gets blurred out.
