PayPal Interview Experience for Software Engineer Summer Internship 2023 (On-Campus)
Round 1- Online test on hackerrank
- 6 MCQs- aptitude, DSA application in real life, DBMS, difficulty level: easy
- 2 coding questions – difficulty level: medium
20 people were selected for the technical interview.
Round 2 – Technical interview
It was a virtual interview for about 40 mins. The interviewer was very friendly and introduced himself. He then asked me to introduce myself. After a brief introduction, he started asking questions.
- Oops, concept -what is meant by abstract class, and why do we use it?
- An approach to a coding qn -basic string manipulation and time complexity of my approach.
- What do you know about SQL injection?
- SQL queries- I gave an answer using inner queries but he asked for a different answer using joins. I gave that too.
- An aptitude puzzle
- He asked me if I am aware of computer networks and software engineering. I told him we have those papers in the upcoming semester.
Round 3- Managerial Round
- Introduction
- How adaptable are you
- Proud moment
- Failure in your life
- Strength, weakness, and what are the skills still you need to develop
- What do you know about PayPal
- Job Expectations
- What do you do if you don’t understand the problem statement
- What if your teammates don’t like your solution?
