Pete Davidson to Drop Stand-Up Special ‘Turbo Fonzarelli’ on Netflix

Pete Davidson is ready to start 2024 with laughs. On Friday, Netflix announced that the Saturday Night Live alum will premiere his stand-up special Turbo Fonzarelli on the platform on Jan. 9.
The Jason Orley-directed special “delivers on what it means to grow up and turn 30, discussing love, life, and living in the woods,” according to the streamer’s synopsis.
The special was executive-produced with Alex Panagos, while Ally Engelberg and Marc Lieberman served as EPs for Above Average, the production company behind the show. It’s unclear what exactly the special’s title references, but Fonzarelli was the last name of Happy Days‘ beloved lead character Fonzie, played by Henry Winkler.
Turbo Fonzarelli marks the comedian’s second stand-up special for Netflix after releasing Alive from New York in early 2020. He later led 2022’s Pete Davidson: The Best Friends in which he welcomed people such as Jordan Rock, Machine Gun Kelly, and Carly Aquilino to join him. He also voiced Marmaduke in the animated Netflix film.
Davidson currently stars on Peacock’s Bupkis as a fictionalized version of himself. This year, Davidson also appears in Dumb Money, where a Rolling Stone review said the actor “stole scenes like a jewel thief.”
Davidson returned to SNL in mid-October to host the show for the first time since leaving the weekly show. On it, he played a parodied version of Ken from Barbie. In 2024, he’s set to star in James DeMonaco’s thriller The Home. He’s also tied to upcoming films Wizards! and Riff Raff.
