UPDATE: Sony has acknowledged the PlayStation Network server issues currently plaguing the service. The PS4 and PS5 platform holder has updated the official server status page to show that every aspect of PSN is experiencing problems. This includes Account Management, Gaming and Social, PlayStation Store, Video and Direct, and PlayStation Plus. Updated at 16.51pm, Sony comments: “You might have difficulty launching games, apps or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

DownDetector reports are also on the rise, with thousands of mentions appearing on social media.

Daily Express has contacted Sony for comment.

ORIGINAL: The PlayStation Network is currently experiencing server issues, leaving millions unable to purchase new PS4 and PS5 games. PlayStation users attempting to access the store are timing out and receiving various error messages. Some have received the error code ce-117773-6, while others are greeted with a message saying, “This probably isn’t what you’re looking for…’

The PlayStation Store server outage is starting to gain traction on sites like DownDetector, which monitors social media for reports about various server issues.

The UK version of DownDetector has over 1,500 reports, while the US site has just under 2,000.

It’s unclear if the issues are related, but Helldivers 2 also seems to be reeling from server issues.

The PlayStation console exclusive is failing to establish a connection for thousands of users attempting to play online.

Frustratingly, Sony is yet to make an official statement about the PlayStation Store/Helldivers 2 server issues.

In fact, the PlayStation Server Status page doesn’t list any problems with PSN.

According to the server status page, the PlayStation Store and all other services are up and running as normal.

With new games like Dragon’s Dogma 2 about to be released, the PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store server issues couldn’t have come at a worst time.
