Now that we’ve unboxed the new Poco M5s, it’s time to do the same with its counterpart, the Poco M5.

The Poco M5 comes with almost the same accessories in the box – a USB cable, case, plastic screen protector, SIM tool, and charger. Only instead of a 33W brick, the M5 gets a slower 22.5W one.

The Poco M5 is slightly bigger than the M5s, mainly due to its larger display. It’s an IPS LCD to the M5s’ AMOLED, but it stands at 6.58 inches over 6.43 inches, and it’s faster at 90Hz.

Then there’s the chipset. It’s the MediaTek Helio G99, based on TSMC’s 6nm process, should achieve far better endurance with the same 5,000mAh battery. The Helio G99 has an eight-core processor with two Cortex-A76 CPU cores running at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 units at 2.0GHz, and it’s paired with 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. There’s microSD card expansion and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Poco M5 has a plastic back with an interesting, leathery finish. It feels genuine to the touch and improves the handling experience. The M5 is available in all three colors – Black, Green, and the unique Poco Yellow. The starting price for a 4/64 GB version is €189, the 4/128 GB variant is €209, while 6/128 GB will cost €229.
