Premiere: Br3nya Takes Us On A Tour Of “Kumasi” In New Visuals

0 50

After taking a year out to work on her music and generally recalbirate, Br3nya returned last week with her latest single “Kumasi” and now she’s dropping off visuals for the track.

Produced by MADEINPARRIS, the track is all about the West London rhymer paying homage to the titular Ghanaian city she holds so dear to her heart. Naturally, the video—courtesy of Shot By Faces—follows suit with scenes of her on a self-care mission, getting fitted for new garms and hitting up the salon before shaking a leg with the locals.

Speaking about the release, Br3nya says: “Kumasi represents a metaphorical journey of my recent life experiences and the journey of rediscovering myself, my confidence, my truth, and most importantly my heritage. It celebrates the fun essence and vibrancy of Ghana shedding light on underrepresented parts of the country which are just as full of life. It shows the duality of my identity being born and raised in West London but never losing sight of my true inner ‘Innit innit girl’.

“Kumasi being the pit stop between Accra and my hometown holds a very special spot in every trip I take back home,” she continued. “I can’t skip it and all it’s beauty-sometimes I pass through there to visit and build memories with family and more recently to celebrate the life of loved ones who have passed over, but each time is special.”

Hit play on the new video at the top and then make sure you add “Kumasi” to all your playlists.
