Premiere: LayFullStop Shows Us Round An Unusually Sunny Manchester
Manchester, as always, has got a lot to be proud of on pretty much every musical front and its pioneering creatives are making themselves heard in both the mainstream and the underground. One of the most exciting players in the scene is LayFullStop, an independent singer-songwriter who recently released a single titled “Act Right” that’s just been given a fresh set of visuals.
Directed and filmed in Manchester by Aim Films, the video plays up to the light and breezy Bossa Nova leanings of the instrumental. Keeping things stylish but to the point, we see LayFullStop and her pals shaking a leg around the city, making the most of an uncharacteristically sunny day in the 0161.
Produced entirely herself, the new track is a sign of more to come—although she remains tight-lipped on details. It’s also a particularly special one for her because it was something she’s been working on for quite some time. “This song is an evolution of a song I made six-plus years ago and wanted to make it relevant to where I am currently in my journey,” she explained. “I also created this song to merge the uplifting and chilled atmosphere that bossa nova brings with the internal battle of constantly wanting to do the right thing.”
