The entire country is abuzz with excitement for the launch of the lifestyle off-roader Jimny from the biggest carmaker in India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Any new information regarding Jimny is eagerly awaited by the thousands of customers who have pre-booked the model. Most recently, a clear and complete view of Jimny driving on the road in real-life conditions has surfaced online. The video shows Jimny driving past other Maruti cars on the road before entering a Nexa dealership.

The video of Jimny driving around on the streets has been uploaded on YouTube by True Car Advice on their channel. At the beginning of the video, we can observe Jimny being driven by two company executives who are reversing the car for a U-turn. The creator of the video mentions that this is the clearest view of Jimny driving in real-life road conditions, and we can note the car’s road presence.

He mentions that there are videos of Jimny on the internet, but they are from a dealership, and there is no video of the SUV being driven on roads. In this video, the SUV is finished in Kinetic Yellow, the launch color of the car, and the variant is the top-of-the-line Alpha variant. The YouTuber then states that there were many speculations that the car might look like a toy on the road, but in reality, it has good road presence.

It may not be as big as the Mahindra Thar, but it looks decent on the road. The car can be seen reversing into the showroom floor. Furthermore, there are clips of the car in the basement as well. In the first clip, we can also note the car passing other smaller Maruti cars like the Ignis, Baleno, and Ritz. In comparison, the Jimny looks significantly bigger, although those are smaller hatchbacks, so a direct comparison is not appropriate.

The Jimny might be a smaller SUV, but it is perfect for its purpose. Its lightweight and smaller dimensions will help it tackle terrains that more expensive and heavier fully fledged SUVs might not be able to tackle. The SUV comes equipped with the company’s proprietary AllGrip Pro system, which includes 2H, 4H, and 4L low-range transfer gear.

Dimensionally, the Jimny measures 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width, and 1,720mm in height. The SUV’s ground clearance is 210mm. In addition, the Jimny has a 36-degree approach angle, a 24-degree ramp break-over, and a 50-degree departure angle. The 1.5-liter petrol engine that powers the Maruti Jimny’s two variants, Zeta and Alpha, delivers 103 horsepower and 134 pound-feet of torque. The small but zippy powerplant can be mated with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed torque converter.

Suzuki Link telematics, cruise control, LED headlights with washers, ABS with EBD, hill hold and hill descent control, and limited-slip brake differential are all standard on the Jimny. It also boasts a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the Alpha variant of the Jimny gets projector headlamps, headlamp washers, automatic headlamps, green-tinted UV-cut glasses, 15-inch alloy wheels, and electrically folding and adjustable ORVMs.
