PlayStation Plus subscribers are just days away from finding out the identity of the free PS4 and PS5 games for May 2023. Barring a last-minute leak, the next batch of PS Plus games will be revealed on the afternoon of April 26. The PlayStation Plus Essentials will be available to download and play less than a week later on May 2. In the run up to the official announcement, PS Plus subscribers have been having fun predicting the line-up for May. If the predictions are correct, then fans are in for a real treat next month.

In an entertaining PS Plus predictions thread over on Reddit, multiple fans believe martial arts brawler Sifu will make an appearance on PlayStation Plus in May.

The game has been out for over a year, and has been updated multiple times with free content since launch.

Another game with more than one mention is Sony first-party game Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart.

With a few exceptions, first-party PlayStation exclusives always end up on PS Plus at some point, so Ratchet and Clank seems like a solid choice. Indeed, it’s really a matter of when it will make its PlayStation Plus debut.

The same goes for The Last of Us Part 2, which is gaining traction following the popularity of the HBO series.

Elsewhere, multiple fans have picked Sekiro to make a PS Plus appearance, although this might be wishful thinking.

It wouldn’t be the biggest surprise to see Sekiro join the PS Plus Essentials line-up, so fingers crossed fans get their wish.

Other games with multiple mentions include Nier Automata, LEGO Star Wars, FIFA 23, and Alan Wake Remastered.

Various Resident Evil games feature in the predictions thread, alongside different Far Cry titles and a Final Fantasy game.

Needless to say, there are plenty of mentions for indie games, such as The Pathless, Cult of the Lamb, Death’s Door, and Spelunky 2.

At least one person also believes that Sony will throw a bonus PSVR 2 game into the mix, which would certainly help the company boost sales.

As for my own personal predictions, I’m going to go along with Sifu and Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart, as well as Windjammers 2.

Ahead of the May 2023 PS Plus games reveal, it’s worth reminding fans that there’s still time to download the April freebies.

This includes Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Tails of Iron. The current batch will be available to download until May 2.
