He stated that at the time of his accident, he feared the risk of a potential amputation of his leg. “If there was any nerve damage, there was a possibility of amputation. That is when I felt scared,” said Pant. He added that soon after the accident and understanding the situation of his knee, he asked a passerby to help him in realigning his dislocated knee. He stated, “There was someone around, so I asked if he could help get the leg back in the position. He helped the knee get back in place.”
Pant also recalled the accident being so horrifying that, “I had taken an SUV, but what I was seeing was a sedan,” describing the mangled state of his vehicle. Following this, the young cricketer stated that recovery for Pant has been very difficult. Rishabh Pant was first admitted to a hospital in Dehradun and was then shifted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai via a helicopter. After this, he went through a series of three ligament surgeries.
