Redmi K60 series announced with powerful SoCs, 120Hz displays & more
Xiaomi has just announced three Redmi K60 smartphones in China, the Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro, and Redmi K60E. These three phones do have a lot in common, but there are some differences worth pointing out.
The Redmi K60 Pro is, of course, the most powerful out of the bunch. It comes with the most powerful SoC, and some other perks. Before we get down to the specs, let’s talk about the design a bit.
The Redmi K60 series is official, with the ‘Pro’ model leading the pack
All three phones share the same look, and weight, while there are both glass and leather models to choose from, though seemingly not for all variants. There is also a ‘Championship Edition’ of the Redmi K60 Pro. That device has a design inspired by a sports car, and comes with a double-sided carbon fiber high-gloss speed line.
That being said, all models include thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side, while a fingerprint scanner is located under the display.
All three phones have 120Hz displays, but they’re not the same. The Redmi K60 and K60 Pro do have the same display, though. A 6.67-inch QHD+ panel from TCL. That is an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. It also offers up to 1,440 nits of peak brightness.
The Redmi K60E, on the other hand, also has a 6.67-inch QHD+ display, with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. It has lower brightness (1,200 nits), and no PWM high-frequency dimming.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels the ‘Pro’ model
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels the Redmi K60 Pro. The Redmi K60 is fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, while the Redmi K60E comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 8200.
The Redmi K60 Pro comes in 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM models, as does the Redmi K60. The ‘Pro’ model includes LPDDR5X RAM, while the K60 has LPDDR5 RAM. The Redmi K60E offers 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The Redmi K60 Pro comes with UFS 4.0 flash storage, while the other two models include UFS 3.1 storage.
All three phones have two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM), and Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top. A 5,000mAh battery is included inside the Redmi K60 Pro, while the Redmi K60 and K60E have a 5,500mAh battery. The ‘Pro’ model offers 120W charging, while the other two have 67W charging. Only the Redmi K60 Pro and K60 come with wireless charging, they offer 30W wireless charging.
All three phones have similar camera setups overall, but different main cameras
The Redmi K60 Pro includes a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX800 sensor, f/1.88 aperture, OIS+EIS), an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera (120-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture), and a 2-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture). The Redmi K60 has a 64-megapixel main camera (OmniVision OV64B sensor, OIS-EIS), and the other two cameras are the same as on the ‘Pro’ unit. The Redmi K60E includes a 48-megapixel main camera, and the other two cameras are identical to the other two models. The Redmi K60 Pro and K60 have a 16-megapixel selfie camera, while the K60E model includes a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.
All three phones have an infrared sensor, 5G (SA/NSA) support, and a USB Type-C port. Stereo speakers are also included in the package. The glass model of these phones measures 162.78 x 75.44 x 8.59mm, while the leather model is a bit thicker at 8.79mm. The glass model weighs 205 grams, while the leather variant weighs 199 grams.
We expect at least two out of these phones to make it to markets outside of China
The pricing for the Redmi K60 Pro starts at CNY3,299 ($473), for the K60 at CNY2,499 ($358), and for the K60E at CNY2,199 ($315). At least two out of three of these phones will likely make their way to global markets, at least that’s our guess. Xiaomi did not share any additional info.
