Redmi Note 12 camera, fast charging specifications tipped: launch timeline

According to a report quoting noted tipster Digital Chat Station, the Redmi Note 12 will come with a 50-megapixel primary wide angle shooter and 120W fast charging. The tipster also hinted that the smartphone will come with a charger inside the box and will have a similar rectangular design with squared edges and a flat screen. The report, however, mentions the China version of the smartphone, but it’s likely that the global variants of the Redmi Note 12 may also come with similar specifications. The report also hints at the Redmi Note 12 coming with a 2-megapixel macro lens, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter.

The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G that is being sold in India was the first mid-range Xiaomi smartphone to come with 120W fast charging. The Redmi Note 12 is said to take that forward with the next version. The report states that the Redmi Note 12 will be able to charge from zero to 100 percent in just 20 minutes, similar to the brand’s flagship products like the Xiaomi 12 Pro.

Earlier, Redmi product manager Lu Weibing had said that the Redmi Note series will be renewed every six months, and will be positioned as “small flagship for performance” and “small flagship for experience.” Weibing had also shared a teaser for the new Redmi Note series phone launch in China on Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo.

Apart from the triple camera setup and 120W fast charging, the Redmi Note 12 may come with a MediaTek Dimensity chip later this year, earlier reports have mentioned. In an ECC cerfification listing last month, two Redmi phones, believe to be Redmi Note 12 models were spotted with and 22101316UG model numbers, where the ‘G’ is believed to stand for the global variant.
