Redmi Pad to launch on October 4 in India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, has announced its plans to expand its product portfolio with the introduction of the brand’s first tablet—the Redmi Pad—in India. The company took to Twitter to confirm the launch date of the upcoming Redmi Pad. The tablet will be launched on October 4 at 12 noon. As of now, the company has not disclosed the price of the Redmi Pad.

In the recent tweet by Redmi India, the company said “Right Choice for Entertainment, Gaming, E-learning, and Browsing is here”. It shows the tablet in green. However, it is expected to come in Graphite Grey and Moonlight Silver colour options as well.

The tweet also provided a link to a webpage containing additional information about the tablet. If you want to get notified when the tablet will be available for purchase, you can go to the link on Redmi India’s official twitter handle and click on the “Notify Me” button.

Redmi Pad: Expected specifications
As per the rumours, the tablet will sport a 10.6-inch 2K LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a brightness of up to 400 nits. The Redmi Pad is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC chipset with up to 4GB RAM and an internal storage of up to 128GB.

The Redmi Pad tablet is rumoured to house an 8MP rear and front-facing camera. The tablet’s selfie camera is expected to use FocusFrame technology to utilise the 105-degree field of view. Additionally, the Redmi Pad tablet is expected to come with quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. It is also said to pack an 8000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
