Venkatram Mamillapalle, the Country CEO & Managing Director of Renault India Operations, expressed his delight, stating, “We are extremely delighted to have crossed the 8 lakh sales milestone in India. This has been a phenomenal journey.”

Renault attributed its success in India to a robust product strategy and strategic measures implemented across key business dimensions. The company emphasized its commitment to delivering a seamless brand ownership experience to customers. Notable achievements for Renault in the Indian market include the popularity of the Kiger SUV, which became a volume driver since its launch. Additionally, the Kwid entry-level hatchback recently surpassed the 400,000 sales milestone, while the Triber MPV continues to receive positive customer response, as an affordable alternative to the Maruti Ertiga MPV. The now-discontinued Duster SUV was also a popular during its time.

Renault India highlighted the collaborative efforts between French and Indian teams in designing these successful models, which also embody the “Make in India” initiative. These products are developed and manufactured in India, catering to the domestic market before being introduced to global markets.

Over the past two years, Renault has expanded its presence in India, adding more than 150 facilities. The company now boasts an extensive network of 530 sales and service touchpoints, including over 250 Workshop-On-Wheels and WOWLite locations throughout the country.

Sources indicate that the upcoming Duster will be based on the lower-spec version of the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform, with India-specific modifications akin to Volkswagen’s India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform.

Regarding the design, the forthcoming Renault Duster will draw inspiration from the Renault Bigster Concept SUV showcased previously. Noteworthy exterior features include sharp body lines and Y-themed elements incorporated into the front grille, headlamps, and tail lamps. The top-spec variants are likely to feature all-LED headlamps and tail lamps. The SUV’s signature upright and muscular stance will be retained, along with slightly flared wheel arches, excellent ground clearance, and an upright bonnet. Preliminary details suggest a length of approximately 4.44 meters for the new Duster.
