Reneé Rapp Postpones Shows After Losing Her Voice

Rapp was slated to play two shows in Southampton this week but canceled in order to avoid “risk of long term injury”

Reneé Rapp is postponing two U.K. shows after losing her voice amid an ongoing illness, the singer announced on social media on Tuesday. Rapp was slated to play two shows at Vinilo Record Store in Southampton on March 7, but they’re now getting pushed back to a new date for when she plays Reading and Leeds in England this August.

“Guys, I’m sure you could tell but my voice was gone after last nights show,” Rapp wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday. “I’ve been sick for the majority of the European leg of this tour, and without any recovery time I can’t seem to shake it. I’m being told that I need to rest my voice and not sing through for risk of long term injury.”

Rapp said the newly scheduled dates would be shared this week. “This tour is everything to me but holy shit am I burnt and I have to prioritize my health in this moment,” Rapp said.

The postponements come during a very busy 2024 for Rapp. She starred as Regina George in the musical adaptation of Mean Girls earlier this year, and she made her Saturday Night Live musical guest debut in January. She’s spent the past month across Europe for the Snow Hard Feelings Tour, playing the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland on Monday.

Rapp is currently slated to return for U.S. shows next month, starting with Coachella on April 14 and April 21, and she’ll play Boston Calling, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo in May and June as well.
